Vision Board
Since the so-called move to the US was laid on the table, Um and I have been setting goals for ourselves – as individuals and as a family. I admit, I haven’t religiously been keeping up with these goals. It is such a buzz kill to have waiting as an integral part of achieving them. But we’re putting an end to making that as an excuse. So, we decided to create mini versions of these goals. Things we can break down into months, weeks or even days.
Captain Awesome has arrived, by the way. It’s going to be a real tough challenge to keep his above average brain from getting bored in this small city. Pfft. After all, we (as in Um and I) HAVE to show the kids that moving them here is worth it. Considering what they have and what they’re accustomed to back in the Philippines, we have got to level things up over here.
Anyway, I thought I can enroll him for golf or art classes, but it looks like they’re pretty limited. That didn’t surprise me, though. This is still, after all, in the top five of the list of miserable cities in the US. And they’re on weekdays! WTH!!! How the hell is that going to work for us?
Captain Awesome is pretty creative and I’m thinking of getting him on board with this goals thing. I’m thinking of buying some art materials and, for an activity, we’ll create vision boards. I can’t wait to see what he’s going to come up with. I’m not really one of those parents who impose on my children what they should be when they grow up. And Captain Awesome is not one of those kids who already have a specific career that he wants to pursue. It changes every now and then – policeman, architect, lawyer. At the moment, what he says he wants to be is a cartoonist. I wonder how long he’s going to have this dream for. LOL. I don’t mind, though, if this sticks. Hello, art school. Hello, Pixar or Disney or Dreamworks or… =)
I’m imagining I’m creating my vision board already. My mind is spinning with all these things I want to do. So little time. I wish I can do them all.
