On the Loose: Downtown SF
Ooooohhhhh…yesterday was definitely a nondomesticated day. I let the finest inadvertently domesticated diva in me roam free around Downtown San Francisco the entire afternoon. I set a date with my cousin, Patticakes, last week for a shopping day in the city and I am so glad that it materialized. My body is aching all over – legs from all the walking and arms from all the shopping bags I flung – but it is so worth it! Besides, I only go for a major shopping fix every six months – end of May and end of November. That’s before my birthday and before Christmas. Fair enough, don’t you think?
We started the day in the city at 12 noon by having lunch at this Vietnamese restaurant with Patticakes’ mom, Favorite Tita, and sister, SuperSamBam. The food was great. I had the spicy curry — not spicy enough for me, though, but I think that was because I had jalapeno poppers the day before and they totally immune my tongue.
Check out our super colorful drinks.
purple: ube tapioca drink; green: Vietnamese version of the halo-halo; orange: Thai iced tea.
SuperSamBam had to study for her finals this week so she had to pass up shopping day. So, Favorite Tita and SSB just walked us to the bus stop before they headed home. Yes, bus stop. Public transportation. I am so proud to say that I survived it! I actually enjoyed it!!!
The only time I had to put up with public transportation was in the Philippines, all throughout college because I didn’t want to lodge in a dormitory and I didn’t have a car. I’ve experienced waiting for 2 hours, getting drenched in the rain, getting pushed off a ride and having my purse opened without me noticing and losing my wallet in the process. DIS.OR.GAN.IZED. Perhaps, that’s why I enjoyed the public transportation in San Francisco yesterday. It was waaaay different. We had to put up with an arrogant Filipino bus driver who talked to us the entire ride to the Muni, though. LOL.
We spent the afternoon at the Westfield San Francisco Centre. It turned out to have everything that I needed at the moment. The lines to the fitting room and the counter seemed like a mile, but I bet it’s more tolerable than the lines today, Memorial Day.
Got some tops, skirts and a dress. I think I have enough shoes for now. And I didn’t really need more supply of makeup so I skipped Sephora. We spent 3-something hours in the mall, which was fairly short…right, ladies? We wrapped up shopping at around 4:30 in the afternoon, but the weather was so perfect that we just HAD to walk around. I wished I had a DSLR. I wish I had taken more photos of the city, but with the shopping bags, I also wish I had more hands.
Can somebody remind me what the name of this church is?
Went inside the church for my three wishes and, since we’ve both already heard mass in the morning, we went out right away ‘cuz the 5:00 p.m. mass was about to start.
It was a great way to end the month. I really, really love girl’s day outs. Ms B, SuperSamBam AND Little HRH (yes, I’m calling Little Princess “Little HRH” from now on) should be there the next time! I mean, how could Ms B miss another possible Louis Vuitton-acquisition day? LOL
Ms B, the Mothership summons.
