My Little Dad Story

Everybody is sad about what happened to Dad. I am sad, too. But I believe that he is now in heaven. I think that he is a really great man. I did not really spend a lot of time with him and I did not really get to know him, but my Mommy keeps telling me a lot about him. It seems like he was an amazing grandfather to my mom and all his grandkids. Maybe he was too old for him to do the things he did to them to me and Little HRH and our cousin.

When I was still in the Philippines, Dad and Mom were in Manila often because of his health and his doctor was in Quezon City. We visited him on Sundays. Not every Sunday, though, because sometimes we have a lot of things to do at home like homework and stuff. But we saw Dad and Mom as much as we could. They love our visits.

There was one time, I was holding his magnifying glass and we used it to burn paper. I was very careful when I was holding it because I did not want to break it. Dad used it to read and, boy! The letters are really big with his magnifying glass! I remember asking him what else he used the magnifying glass for and he said nothing else. Only for reading. Mommy said Dad really loved reading.

He was a very funny great grandfather, too. He always pretended to get the spelling of Little HRH’s name wrong (I mean her real name). He did this because my shy little sister would not go to him for no reason. Whenever he started saying random letters to spell Little HRH’s name, she would go to him and spell her name correctly. And then they were sitting next to each other.

I love him very much. I will miss him, too.
