De-stressors: What’s Your Antidote for Stress
Our brother gave me this… thing. I am not sure what it’s called but it is a de-stressor.
You put it on your head and slide it down your scalp. It gives you shivers down your spine, but it’s good shivers – one that would be tingly from inside-out.
I found I have different de-stressors for different kinds of stress. Today I received such an annoying announcement from work, and this thing was what I needed to relax my head, from my spine out to my skin. Being annoyed makes me grit my teeth and this de-stressor just opens me up.
When I’m stressed because I’m sad, I watch FRIENDS, particularly season 9 disc 2. That’s when I just need some familiar laughter.
When I’m stressed due to frustration, I would put on Kill Bill or most recently True Blood. For some reason, the power and the physical strength of the characters just empower me in an odd way.
We’re all just trying to do our best to cope and handle situations and challenges – ones that are just jaw-droppingly ridiculous sometimes. All my de-stressors are how I change my mood in a more physical level. I pray, too, but mostly that is for praying that these de-stressors work and for the problem to just magically go away. Problems don’t magically go away though, thus, we cope some more.

This is thing is called a Bokoma (http://www.bokoma.de/englisch/preview/pages/main1de.htm). When used in a certain way or certain part of the scalp, it can actually mimic the same sensation as an orgasm. Hence, you feel “released” from the stress.
