What I really, really, reeeeaaaaalllllllyyyyy miss is the random catching up with friends over lunch, dinner or margaritas. I miss going out for a drink for no reason. Hours of conversations about life, art, music, culture’s glory and disappointments, the inane and the mundane. It’s a shame we can never have these little gatherings too often. And it’s ironic how life sometimes gets in the way of actually living.

The saddest part is, I know that I’m not going to have any of these get together’s anytime soon. It’s Saturday night and I should be sipping a tequila-based drink instead of this hot chocolate. I could, but the integral element of these mini social events, the company that I so love and adore, are now thousands of miles away.

Shout out to Jane Smith, Beetlejuice, Pamdemonic, strangebyday, hazehung (and husband), Ms V and every one else I’ve raised a shot glass with.
