City Lights of the City of Lights
This is my favorite city in the world. Can you guess what city this is without its best known structures?
Okay, time’s up.
Paris, France, of course! I am an uber francophile since I was a child, and on my first trip to Paris, I went with my parents. Actually, the trip was a treat from me and my dad for my mom for Mother’s Day, 2007.
This picture was taken 150 feet above the ground, on Paris’ most famous icon, Tour Eiffel. The river Seine is serene amidst the busy buzzing of the city lights, including that of the batobus (waterbus).
It was a magnificent moment. Despite his vertigo, my father was having the time of his life, with his wife by his side. And I, well, I had one of the happiest smiles.
I did return to France but I haven’t returned to Paris. But I have no worries I will be back. Because I stood on Point Zero, Paris’ geographic center. And legend has it that whoever sets foot on the point will come to Paris once more. Another one of my happiest smiles.
